Saudi King Fahd's health "steadily improving": crown prince
font size

Saudi Arabia's King Fahd's health is steadily improving, Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz declared on Monday.

"The king's health is steadily improving, thank God," the crown prince told the cabinet's weekly session, quoted by the official Saudi Press Agency.

The report did not give further details.

King Fahd has been hospitalized since May 27 for treatment of pneumonia and respiratory complications.

The 83-year-old king was wheelchair-bound due to a stroke a decade ago and his half brother Crown Prince Abdullah has been in charge of the daily affairs of the world top oil country.
