Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong said in Beijing Monday that China and Equatorial Guinea enjoy sound relationship and suggested the two countries take every opportunity to boost bilateral ties to a new level.

Zeng made the remarks at a meeting with visiting Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophone Pastor Micha Ondo Bile.

Zeng said the relations between China and Equatorial Guinea have evolved smoothly over the past 35 years despite temporal and international vicissitudes.

He said bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, culture and science have produced plentiful consequences.

He also expressed China's appreciation for Equatorial Guinea's long-term adherence to the one-China policy and its support for China's reunification cause.

Micha, who is here for a six-day official visit, said the friendly cooperation between China and Equatorial Guinea has brought about benefits for the two peoples.

He said China offered generous help to Equatorial Guinea when the country was going through its most difficult period. "Now Equatorial Guinea's economy has achieved great progress and there should be greater opportunity and potential for further cooperation."

Micha said he hoped more Chinese enterprises would invest in Equatorial Guinea. He also reiterated his government's stalwart adherence to the one-China policy.
