Foreign diplomats offer advice to Huangshan MountainsDiplomats from 12 countries and their wives sightsaw at the Huangshan Mountains on May 28 and 29, 2005. The natural beauty and profound culture of the Mountains have left them unforgettable impression. They offered ardent and constructive advice to the Huangshan Mountains too. Singaporean Ambassador to China Chin Siat Yoon: Singapore is a tourism country but it doesn't have so much natural and cultural resource as Huangshan Mountains do. Mr. Chin has seen tremendous changes in traffic and administration in other aspects at Huangshan during his second trip to Huangshan. In regard to tourism in Huangshan he thinks it is not enough to see how many people come here. When tourists come here tourism operators need to make them stay longer, and to satisfy their various demands so that they have desire to come again. This is the sustainable development. Mr. Chin suggests Huangshan to offer more entertainment activities both in daytime and night, so that people will stay longer and spend more. More high-star hotels ought to be built too. Bangladeshi Ambassador to China Ashfaqur Rahman: Mr. Rahman comes to travel at the beautiful Huangshan Mountains with his wife and daughter, and they have had a very pleasant time here. He agrees with Ambassador Chin's opinions. Huangshan needs to come up with ideas that make tourist spend more time here. For instance historical and cultural festivals in Ming and Qing Dynasties can be resumed. Various themes are needed to reflect life and folk customs in ancient times. Streetlights in the evening as well as music in the streets will help bring back scenes in history. This will make nightlife here more colorful. Philippine Ambassador to China Willy C. Gaa: The trip is the most impressive one for Mr. Gaa though it's his second trip to Huangshan. Huangshan not only boasts splendid scenery that is parallel to the Grand Canyon in the US, but also owns well-preserved ancient villages like Hongcun, Xidi, Tangchu, and farmers can be seen work hard in the fields that people will not see at the Grand Canyon. Philippine students can come for study tours here to learn traditional Chinese culture and national spirits, to feel profound philosophy and morality, and to share China's beauty and cultural heritages. Hungarian Ambassador to China Sandor Meszaros: Mr. Meszaros has seen beautiful mountains and waters of the Huangshan and experienced China's profound history in the trip. Seeing great changes in social and economic constructions he is very proud of China. In his opinion, Huangshan should put more efforts in outbound promotions. Promotions can be carried out repeatedly in several places in Europe, so that more European tourists will get to know China's development, and the picturesque Huangshan. By People's Daily Online |
