Al-Jazeera TV channel aired a new videotape of al-Qaida's deputy leader on Friday, which showed Aymanal-Zawahiri urged his followers to carry out fight against crusaders.

Zawahiri appeared in the footage in a traditional gown wearing awhite turban and a rifle was propped up by his side.

Zawahiri called for fight against crusaders and Jews, stressing reforms alone could not drive the invaders out of the Muslim world.

He said reforms are impossible as long as occupation exists and any reform should be based on Islam and under no subject to foreigninterference.

In the footage, he slammed some pro-Western states like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

He also criticized harassment to women protesters in Egypt who demonstrated against a constitutional amendment in May.

The Qatar-based satellite channel stopped short of specifying how it obtained the tape, which was not dated.

The Egyptian-born Zawahiri is the right-hand man of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. He is on a US list of its "most wanted terrorists".
