India on Monday successfully tested a surface-to-air missile, the second such test in two days, the defense ministry said.
The missile, Akash, was tested at 11:13 a.m. (0543 GMT) from a mobile launcher at the Chandipur-on-Sea testing range, 200 kilometers northeast of Bhubaneswar, Orissa's state capital, the ministry said.
The missile can track 100 targets simultaneously with onboard radar. It can move at a speed of 600 meters a second and deliver a 55 kilogram warhead.
The 700-kilogram missile was last tested on Friday.
