CPC senior official meets African ruling parties delegation

Li Changchun, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official, met with an African ruling parties' delegation in Beijing Tuesday, vowing to further develop the relations between the CPC and African parties to promote Sino-African ties.

Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, told the delegation that China and Africa have become "friends of all weather types".

"We are both facing the common historic mission of seeking peace and promoting development and we support each other and closely coordinated on the international arena," Li said.

To enhance unity and cooperation with African countries is always an important component part of China's independent foreign policy of peace, Li said, noting the Chinese government will push forward Sino-African relations and play a positive role for Africa 's stability and development in both bilateral and multi-lateral occasions.

Li briefed China's stance on the United Nations' reform and appreciated African countries' support to China on the issue of Taiwan and human rights.

Allele Elhadji Habibou, a senior secretary of the National Movement for the Society of Development-Nassara, ruling party of Niger, told Li that the delegation witnessed China's tremendous achievements in its reform and opening-up cause and modernization strive.

African ruling parties will enhance exchange and cooperation with the CPC, which is beneficial for Sino-African friendship and for maintaining world peace and stability and the forging of a new political and economic order.

The delegation is composed of about 20 representatives from the ruling parties of Cameroon, Djibouti, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Niger, Rwanda, Seychelles and Togo. They will also travel to China's northernmost Heilongjiang Province and Shandong province in east China.
