A reception was in Beijing on June 24 to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mozambique.

Addressing the reception jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the China-Africa Friendship Association, Chen Haosu, president of the CPAFFC, said China and Mozambique, both developing nations, always support each other in international affairs.

China spoke highly of Mozambique's friendly policy towards China, and appreciates Mozambique's adherence to one-China policy and the support to China in the human rights issue, Chen said.

Chen said the CPAFFC, as a non-governmental friendship association, values friendship with the Mozambique people, and hopes to carry out more friendly exchanges between the people of the two countries, so as to further promote bilateral ties between the two countries.

Mozambique Ambassador to China Antonio Inacio Junior said that Mozambique and China have enjoyed good relations since their forging of diplomatic ties in 1975, with a frequent exchange of visits in various levels and fruitful cooperation in politics, economy and culture.

"I hope that the sound political relations between Mozambique and China will drive win-win cooperation between the two sides in the economic sphere," he said.

The ambassador said Mozambique will, as always, continue to support the one-China policy, and is ready to further enhance cooperation with China in international affairs.

Officials from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the CPAFFC and the Mozambique Embassy to China were present on the occasion.
