French President Jacques Chirac will call for "renewed international cooperation" on oil prices and on the euro, dollar exchange rate at the G8 summit on July 7-8 at Gleneagles in Scotland, according to a document released by Chirac 's office on Wednesday.

Chirac said at a preparing meeting for the Group of eight world 's most industrialized countries (G8) that he wanted to "better control of the euro/dollar relation" and enhanced ties with large economies around the world.

As to oil prices, which reached to its peak of 60 dollars per barrel early this week, Chirac noted it ought to "improve market transparency" and "use economic policy and the diversification of energy sources to tackle growing disparity between rising global demand and dwindling reserves."

"This issue is evidently related to the fight against climate change", which will top the agenda of the G8 summit along with aid to Africa.

Chirac reaffirmed the world growth would continue to be fragile and unbalanced.

The G8 summit will group leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States, as well as leaders from Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa.

The French president proposed to launch the cooperation in three fields: exchange, oil and trade.

He also stressed firmly that France can not accept that globalization goes with demolition of social system.

"The competition between great economic poles of the world should be done in respecting our universal values," he said.
