A senior al-Qaida militant was killed in a clash with Saudi police in the capital on Sunday, the al- Arabiya TV channel reported.
The militant was identified as Younis Mohammad Ibrahim al- Hayyari, a Moroccan, a man on a newly issued list of 36 al-Qaida suspects believed to be involved in attacks in the kingdom.
However, a Saudi Interior Ministry official said it was too early to say if the killed was on the list.
Last week, Saudi Arabia issued a new wanted list of al-Qaida suspects, most of them Saudis.
