LexisNexis, a world-leading provider of legal and business information, Monday unveiled a website in Chinese in Beijing, offering legal information to domestic and transnational companies operating in China.
The service now has access to more than 165,000 Chinese state laws and local regulations in its database, said Tay Tuan Kiat, General Manager for LexisNexis in China.Its information database also covers accounting, litigation, foreign trade, dispute settlement, investment and so on.
It has been exclusively licensed to provide information from the State Information Center, said Tay, to ensure timely and authoritative information updates.
With China's rapid evolution, many news rules and regulations come into effect each year, said Tay. "Domestic and transnational companies in China have a dire need to learn about these rules and we are here to meet the needs, " she said.
The latest figures from the Ministry of Information Industry show that the number of Chinese Internet users hit 98.8 million in May. Industry insiders say that LexisNexis will help improve specialized information services in China.
