font size

Unknown gunmen opened fire at a minibus with seven airport employees aboard in western Baghdad on Tuesday, killing four women and wounding three others, police said.

The attack took place at about 7:00 a.m. (03:00 GMT) on the intersection of the most dangerous road of Baghdad airport and the road of Ameriyah neighborhood, a police officer in the airport told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Two cars loaded with gunmen carried out the attack at the minibus, he said.

More than 1,400 people have been killed across Iraq since the Shiite-dominated government was formed late April.
