Tibetan carpet enters global market
font size

Tibetan carpet, Persian carpet and Turkey carpet are the top three best-known carpets in the world, while the home of Tibetan carpet is located in the Gyangtse County, Shigatse. Gyangtse rugs and carpet enjoy a history of more than 600 years, famous for their close texture, traditional designs and vivid colors.

Gyangtse carpet has gradually become a unique handicraft work of Tibet after the founding of the Tibet Autonomous Region. In 1973, Gyangtse rugs entered international market under the brand "Tibetan carpet from China".

Today, Gyangtse carpets not only meet domestic demands but are exported to over ten countries and regions in North America, West Europe and Southeast Asia, becoming a unique work in the treasure house of world handicraft art.
