Japan to approve oil and gas drilling in East China Sea
font size

According to Kyoto News, Japanese Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry will, within this month, officially grant trial oil and gas concessions in the East China Sea to Teikoku Oil Co., which is now under application.

Till now no progress has been made between the Chinese and Japanese governments in their negotiations on oil and gas drilling in the East China Sea.

Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made it clear many times that China always stands for disputes over the demarcation of the East China Sea between China and Japan be solved through diplomatic negotiation.
