China may miss Intel's 12-inch chip factory.

Intel's new factory for 12-inch chips will probably settle in Israel. According to news from the website of Haaretz, Intel filed an application for an investment subsidy of US$500 million, which has been submitted to Israeli minister of foreign trade and minister of finance.

It is learned that Intel will decide where the factory will be built this year. China was in the candidate list in Intel's plan previous. Currently, the only 12-inch chip factory in China's mainland is in Beijing, owned by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC).
