font size

US President George W. Bush expressed condolences on Thursday to the victims following the deadly blasts in London and vowed not to yield to terrorists.

According to transcripts received here, Bush, who is now in Scotland to attend the G-8 summit meetings, said: "We will not yield to the terrorists. We will find them. We will bring them to justice."

"And at the same time we will spread an ideology of hope and compassion that will overwhelm their ideology of hate," Bush said.

"They have such evil in their heart that they will take the lives of innocent folks. The war on terrorism is on," he said.

Bush said he kept in touch with officials of the US Department of Homeland Security and instructed them to be "extra-vigilant."

According to the CNN, the Department of Homeland Security is expected to raise the terror alert level from yellow to orange for mass transit at a news conference on Thursday noon.
