Putin's website suffers nearly 70,000 attacks each year

According to Russian Federal Security Bureau's statistics, the websites of Russian governmental organs have become the most "favorable" Russian websites for hackers. Websites of the governmental organs suffered 600,000 attacks in 2004. President Putin's website alone were target of 69,000 attacks.

Thanks to extremely tight security measures, majority of hackers' attacks end up fruitless. Most hackers attacking governmental websites are youth from 18 to 25 who have received higher education. They do not attack for political purpose, but to show off their superb hacker techniques.

Figures released by the Russian Presidential In formation Department show there are 5,000 to 6,000 visitors to President Putin's website daily. The record number is 22,000. When President Putin attends large international event, the daily pageviewes reach 8,000 to 9,000.
