Suicide car bombing hits northern Iraqi city
font size

A suicide car bombing attack hit Iraq's northern city of Kirkuk on Sunday, killing three people and wounding 10 others, police said.

"A suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden vehicle and blew it up at about 8:15 a.m. (0415 GMT) in front of Kirkuk Hospital in the central city, killing three people and wounding 10 others, including three in serious condition," Col. Burhan from Kirkuk police told Xinhua.

He said four of the wounded people were the hospital personnel, adding that several nearby cars and buildings were damaged by the blast.

The oil-rich Kirkuk, some 300 km north of Baghdad, has witnessed some violent insurgent attacks during the past year.
