font size

Former United States president Bill Clinton will visit Lesotho on Monday for talks with Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili and King Letsie III about HIV/ AIDS, according to reports reaching Johannesburg Friday.

Lesotho government secretary Tlohang Sekhamane said that Clinton would open a pediatric clinic at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Maseru.

King Letsie III will bestow Lesotho's highest honor, the Knight Commander of the Most Courteous Order of Lesotho, on Clinton.

The Clinton Foundation has been working with Lesotho's government since October 2004 to launch a national care and treatment program for HIV/AIDS sufferers.

Clinton will visit South Africa, Mozambique and Tanzania after Lesotho.
