Hamas armed wing claims responsibility for shelling at settlements

Al-Qassam brigades, armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) claimed responsibility on Monday for carrying out series of Qassam rockets and mortar shells attacks at the Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip.

The brigades said in separated leaflets sent to reporters that its militants fired three mortar shells at Neveh Dekalim settlement and fired Qassam rocket at headquarter of Israeli army leadership southern Gaza Strip.

The brigades attacked Tal Zu'rub outpost in southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah by five mortar shells as well as attacking Genital settlement by a Qassam rocket, the brigades said in the leaflets.

It also said that its militants managed to fire three mortar shells at the settlements of Nisanet and Erez northern Gaza strip Monday morning.

At least five Qassam rockets were launched at the settlements of Netsarim and Dougit that locate eastern Gaza Strip, added the leaflets.

The leaflets stressed that these attacks came responding on the latest Israeli violation of discriminating Holy Quran in the Zionist prison of "Mascobeia".

"These attacks are also a clear response on the Zionist Apaches shelling that caused the killing of eight of the brigades' militants two days ago," said the leaflets.

Meanwhile, Israel Army radio reported that Palestinian miliatats fired Qassam rockets and mortar shells at Gush Katif settlements and southern Israeli towns before dawn on Monday.

The radio added that no casualties or damage were reported in the attacks.
