An Israeli army force stormed on Monday afternoon the West Bank city of Ramallah and arrested seven Palestinians, witnesses said.
They said that while the soldiers were detaining the seven Palestinians in the city, severe clashes erupted between the soldiers and the residents.
Israeli soldiers used tear gas, but no injuries had been reported, added the witnesses.
According to the witnesses, the Israeli army pulled out immediately from the city after the raid.
Sources in the Islamic Jihad movement said that the seven
arrested are members of the movement, who work for several cultural centers.
Khader Adnan, a spokesman for the movement in the West Bank warned that the continuous arrests of its members "would threaten the clam that was agreed among the Palestinians in March in Cairo".
