London police name two bombing suspects

London police Monday named two of the men they suspect tried to set off bombs in a coordinated attack on three London Tube trains and a bus last Thursday.

British anti-terror officers believe 27-year-old Muktar Said Ibrahim, also known as Muktar Mohammed Said, may have tried to set off a bomb on the number 26 bus in east London.

Yasin Hassan Omar, 24, is believed to have attempted to set off a similar device on the Victoria line near Warren Street station, Southern London.

Police searched an address where Omar is thought to have been seen in Ladderswood Way, New Southgate, north London.

They discovered that all the July 21 devices were placed in the same type of plastic food containers, and carried in dark rucksacks.

The containers are six-and-quarter litres in size with white lids and are only sold from 100 outlets in the UK.

Police have appealed for any shopkeepers who has sold five or more to one customer to contact them.

Three of the suspects are now also known to have entered Stockwell Underground station, south London, just before 12.25pm last Thursday.

Police think the bombers may be preparing to strike again while being harbored at safe houses.

Senior officers said there was no indication they had fled Britain after the failure of their original mission to set off bombs at Oval, Warren Street and Shepherd's Bush stations and on the number 26 bus.
