US, allies agree to Poland's plan to withdraw troops from Iraq
font size

The United States and its allies in the US-led coalition in Iraq had agreed to Poland's plan to withdraw its troops from Iraq by the end of January, 2006, said Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski on Monday.

He said in a public radio speech that Polish Defence Minister Jerzy Szmajdzinski discussed the issue during his US visit on July 19 with US Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld.

Kwasniewski also said that Poland completed its fifth and last large-scale rotation of troops in Iraq in July, adding Poland had accomplished its important mission there.
