As the collector and distributor of over ten Balkan TV networks' broadcasting signals, the Macedonian satellite teleport center was put into operation Wednesday.

According to the Macedonian Information Agency's reports, over ten channels from Serbia and Montenegro, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be gathered and distributed through the center which is located in the Macedonian Radio Television building.

"The center's sophisticated equipment will enlist Macedonia among the countries that do not only receive but directly and regularly send signals in the ether," the Macedonian Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski said at the opening ceremony.

Installation of the center is the result of an agreement signed between the Macedonian Ministry of Transport and Communications and the TARBS Group, which is a satellite provider for national and private television channels in around 50 countries worldwide.
