Death toll rises to 10 in offshore oil platform fire near Mumbai

Ten people were confirmed dead, six were trapped and one or two missing in the offshore oil platform fire near Indian business hub Mumbai, local media reported.

NDTV quoted the Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) as saying that the rescue team has saved 367 people and found six people were trapped on the platform enveloped in flames. One or two are still missing.

The fire broke out at the oil platform belonging to the Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) Bombay High oil field at 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when 385 people were working there.
