China holds 12 one-on-one meetings with other five parties

China has held 12 one-on-one consultations with the other five parties during the ongoing six-party talks on Korean nuclear issue, which entered the third day on Thursday in Beijing, said Qin Gang, spokesman for the Chinese delegation.

The Chinese delegation has held three consultations each with delegations of the United States, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Japan respectively, two with the Russian delegation and one with the delegation of the Republic of Korea (ROK), said Qin.

The delegations of the DPRK and the United States also held another one-on-one meeting for about three hours on Thursday morning, according to sources here, but details of the meeting were not immediately available.

The outcome of the DPRK-US bilateral consultations is widely believed to have a major impact on the development of the current round of six-party talks, which also involves China, the ROK, Russia and Japan.
