The second contingent of Chinese police personnel left Kosovo on Saturday afternoon after completing their 12-month mission as UN peacekeepers there, said reports from the Kosovo capital of Pristina.
Before their departure, the seven Chinese policemen were received by senior officials of the UN mission in Kosovo, who expressed appreciation for their dedication to safeguarding world and regional peace.
China sent 19 policemen in two batches to join the UN peacekeeping operations in Kosovo last year. The first batch of 12 policemen returned home on June 27 after finishing the 14-month mission.
The third batch of 18 Chinese policemen started their 12-month mission on July 25 to rotate the first two batches.
A province of Serbia, Kosovo has been put under UN administration since the end of the Kosovo war in June 1999.
