Floods caused by heavy rain killed 27 people on Sunday in Iran's northeastern province of Golestan, the official IRNA news agency reported on Monday.
Heavy rainfall on Sunday afternoon had flooded six villages in the mountainous region of the province, IRNA quoted a local official as saying.
A number of people were still missing, said the official, adding the floods also damaged houses, roads and bridges and cut off electricity in 30 villages.
Rescue teams were searching for the missing and the number of casualty is likely to rise, the official said.
