A delegation led by Nepalese Minister for Information and Communication Tanka Dhakal returned home Tuesday after completing his 10-day goodwill visit to China.
The visit was "extremely fruitful," Dhakal told reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport on his arrival. "I had talks with the high-level distinguished Chinese personalities for mutual cooperation in different fields including communication, industry and economic fields," Dhakal added.
The visit came in the wake of the celebration of the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Dhakal said, "The tremendous progress that China has made in telecommunication, economic and social sectors will set an example of wonderful development in the world."
"The Chinese government is also serious about finalizing the agreement reached between the two countries regarding expansion of optic fiber service from Zhangmu, the Nepal-China boarder, to Kathmandu within scheduled timeframe," Dhakal also said.
Meanwhile, talks were held regarding Chinese assistance for establishing a cine city in Nepal for the institutional development of the film industry, the minister said.
