Russian chief negotiator denies any "crisis" in six-party talks

Russian chief negotiator Alexander Alexeyev returned to Beijing on Thursday to participate in the longest-ever six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.

At Beijing's international airport, Alexeyev denied any "crisis" in the ongoing six-party talks and said "We will try our best to make the talks success."

The six-nation negotiation might still last "one or two days," said the Russian deputy foreign minister.

The fourth round of the six-party talks, involving China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korean, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan, inched into the tenth day Thursday.

All sides are striving to forge a common document at the longest-ever six-party talks, which will set basic principles for resolving the nuclear issue.

Alexeyev arrived in Beijing on July 25 to attend the six-party talks and left for Moscow on July 30 to deal with certain "domestic issues".

Source: Xinhuaanch of Police is seeking authorization from the Home Ministry to spot-check passengers on the suspicion that they may be carrying fake passports or travel documents before they board international flights. It believes that spot-checks at the counter before departure could be an effective way to curb unauthorized manpower export.

It is reported that the government has not formulated an overseas employment policy after over three and a half years it took the initiative. More groundwork should be done to formulate a transparent and accepted policy, officials said.
