font size

A subway train was caught on fire on Saturday in northern Paris, resulting in over 10 people receiving treatment for inhaling smoke.

According to local officials, the fire was caused by a short-circuit in a car of the subway train, and it had been put out. However, part of the lines linking north and south of the city were still closed.

All the passengers have been evacuated and the injured have been taken to hospitals, said a spokesman for the Paris transit authority, RATP.
