font size

Three of the four main suspects behind the failed July 21 London attacks were remanded in custody in London on Monday.

Ibrahim Muktar Said, 27, Ramzi Mohamed, 23, and Yassin Hassan Omar, 24, will be remanded until November 14 on charges of conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, conspiring to endanger life by using explosives, and of making or possessing an explosive with the intent to endanger life or cause serious injury on July 21.

The three, in casual dark clothes, appeared Monday at a hearing in a high security court complex and spoke only to confirm their names.

Said, who was charged in connection with the failed Hackney bus bombing, and Mohamed, charged in connection with the failed Oval Tube bombing, were both arrested in west London on July 29.

Omar, a suspect behind the failed attack in a Tube train at Warren Street, was captured in Birmingham on July 27.

The fourth suspect, Hussein Osman, the alleged would-be Shepherd's Bush bomber, was arrested by Italian police and is being held in Rome.

In other separate developments Monday, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, was also ordered to remain in custody until Nov. 14.

He also appeared in court charged with conspiracy to murder, over a bomb in his backpack found July 23 near a London park.
