Poland strongly protested against the second attack in a week aimed at Polish diplomats in Russia, said Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Tomasz Szeratics on Wednesday.
Poland has demanded from Russia an explanation of the latest attack and punishment of those responsible, said the spokesman.
He added that his country also urged Moscow to take all necessary measures to protect Polish diplomats from similar attacks.
Marek Reszuta, second secretary of the Polish embassy was beaten by four unidentified people in Moscow early Wednesday, three days after another Polish embassy employee was beaten up near the embassy compound.
Polish Ambassador to Russia Stefan Meller has demanded to meet Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Loshchinin following the attack.
A Polish embassy official said the embassy is "astounded and deeply concerned about the security of our employees."
The attacks came days after unidentified attackers beat up three sons of Russian diplomats in Warsaw and grabbed their mobile phones.
