Followers of Chinese religions are expected to hold a series of activities across the country to mark the 60th anniversary of China's victory over Japan during the World War II in a fresh wave of patriotism nationwide aroused by the terrible tragedies China suffered 60 years ago.
Organized by the Peace Committee of China's Religious Circle, the national associations of all of China's five religions of Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Catholicism and Christianism, will hold various religious rites to express their wishes of fighting against aggressive wars and maintain permanent peace for the human being, said the committee here Saturday.
Scheduled to last from Aug. 15 to 20, all the ritual activities will held inside religious sites.
On Aug. 15, or the first day of the activities, millions of Chinese religious followers will attend the activities and still may express their feelings at home.
