The People's Bank of China is to issue a set of coins on Aug. 15 to commemorate the victory of anti-Japanese war and anti-Fascist war 60 years ago.
The two-coin set include a gold coin and a silver one. Both are legal currency of China. The obverse side of the two coins bears a male lion and the Great Wall with the year "1945-2005" marked. The reverse side of the gold coin has designs of Beijing-based Lugou Bridge, a pavilion and a tablet with words of the 60th anniversary of the victory of the War Against Japanese Aggression and the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, while that of the silver coin bears the scene of mass celebration of the victory of the anti-Japanese war and the design of Baota Mountain in Yan'an.
The set of gold and silver coins will be distributed by the China Gold Coin Corporation.
