AU commission chairperson arrives in Beijing for 5-day visit

Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union Alpha Oumar Konare arrived in Beijing Sunday morning for a five-day official visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese government.

Chinese leaders will meet with Konare, who is also expected to confer with Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.

Besides Beijing, Konare will travel to Xi'an, capital of northwest Shaanxi province, and Shanghai, the economic hub of China.
