China collects signs for lunar probe program
font size

China started on August 15 to collect signs from the general public for its lunar probe program.

The collection will end on September 10 this year. Candidate signs should combine science and technology with culture and art. They should embody the scientific, explorative and devotional spirit of the lunar probe. They should represent simplicity, and good taste and a proper meaning. And they should have strong sense of the times and visual impact. Eight works will be singled out after three rounds of selections.

The eight will be released for voting by the public at China's lunar Mid-Autumn Day. The top three will be selected based on the voting results and experts' opinions. The steering group will make the final decision.
