Internet Copyright has attracted increasing attention since the implementation of "Administrative Measures on Internet Copyright Protection". Netease announced recently that it has ceased to offer MP3 search service as of Aug 15, 2005
Mp3 service is based on affecting others interests though it brings huge web traffic, said Netease. For this reason, Netease has suspended MP3 service temporarily so as to set an example for the industry. The service will be offered again when the songs and singers rights are guaranteed.
Convenient and free of charge, MP3 search, as a principal service offered by search engines, has received wide welcome amongst young users, but majority of the songs available online have no copyright. Baidu has been involved in copyright lawsuit before going public and it finally announced to remove mp3 download links.
