China will avail of the 30th anniversary of Sino-Bangladeshi diplomatic ties to further promote the bilateral relationship, President Hu Jintao said in Beijing Thursday.
Hu told visiting Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia that China attaches importance to its relations with Bangladesh, and would like to make joint efforts with Bangladesh to promote regional stability, economic development and common prosperity.
Based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, said Hu, Sino-Bangladeshi relations has developed smoothly over the past 30 years, and the two sides have achieved fruitful cooperation in trade, culture, education and other fields.
He expressed gratitude for the support of Bangladesh to China on the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and human rights.
"Sino-Bangladeshi relations have become an good example of the peaceful co-existence between countries with different social systems," he said.
Zia expressed her appreciation for the achievements China has made on economic development, and praised China's constructive role in international affairs.
She said Bangladesh would like to enhance economic and trade cooperation with China and promote bilateral relations and the consultations between the two countries in international affairs.
