It is learnt from 2005 academic annual meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology that a series of "Starlight" digital multimedia chipset, with China possessing the independent intellectual property right, has already applied for more than 400 domestic and international technical patents. The sales volume on the international market tops 50 million at present, successfully ranking the first in the market share of chips for image input. This is also the first time for China's IC to reach leading position in an important field of application in global market.

The "Starlight China Chip Project", through making breakthrough for seven core technologies, has developed "Starlight" digital multimedia chips of international level and with independent intellectual property rights. It has been widely adopted by world well-known enterprises, and successfully occupies 60% of the image input chip market in the world.
