Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Economic Minister Mazen Sonokrot welcomed Tuesday an Israeli idea to allow Palestinian lorries to transfer goods between Gaza Strip and West Bank after Israeli withdrawal.
Sonokrot told the Voice of Palestine radio that according to the idea, Israel allows 20 Palestinian lorries to transfer goods as a stage of transition.
He said he is not against the idea, but there must be international guarantees that Israel at the same time must start working on the permanent link between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, "which is the safe road".
The Israeli cabinet and the international community have presented the idea of a stage of transition in the concept of the geographical connection, whether it is people or goods transportation between the two areas, Sonokrot noted.
He clarified that international and local experts believe that the possibility to create a permanent link between the two areas would take at least two years and there must be a kind of a stage of transition.
