Suspected bomber held in Rome appeals extradition order
font size

A suspected bomber in the failed July 21 London bombings appealed an Italian court extradition ruling on Friday, his lawyer said.

Hamdi Issac, an Ethiopian-born British citizen also known as Osman Hussain, has been held here since he was arrested on an international arrest warrant in the Italian capital on July 29.

His lawyer, Antonietta Sonnessa, said that the appeal was based on "a lack of proper documentation" by the British authorities and "an atmosphere of heightened tension" in Britain in the wake of the failed attacks.

Under the Italian law, the curt that is filed with the appeal has to make its ruling within 15 days.
