The European Commission (EC) has just decided to uphold the placement of a 7.7-percent anti-dumping tax on imports of stainless steel fasteners and accessories from Vietnam.
The rate is similar to the provisional anti-dumping duty the EC has imposed on the products of five fastener makers in Vietnam since late May, the country's Trade Ministry said Wednesday, noting that the EC's official decision on the 7.7-percent duty will be published on the commission's gazette soon.
Before being subject to the anti-dumping tax, Vietnamese stainless steel fasteners and parts enjoyed tax rates of 3.7 percent.
The EC has so far this year placed anti-dumping tariffs on Vietnamese fluorescent lamps, bicycles, and stainless steel fasteners. It has recently decided to launch an anti-dumping investigation into leather-upper shoes produced in Vietnam, the ministry said.
