Briton, local interpreter abducted in west Afghanistan

A Briton and his local interpreter were abducted in west Afghanistan on Wednesday, a spokesman of Interior Ministry confirmed Thursday.

"A group of armed robbers taken away a British engineer working with USPI Company and his local interpreter form Shindand of Herat province yesterday," Dad Mohammad Rasa told Xinhua.

Police search for their recovery has begun, he added.
