Straw: No excuse for terrorism of any kind

British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said on Friday that there is "no excuse for terrorism of any kind" after he viewed a video by one of the London bombers which was shown on Arab television.

Speaking to reporters at an informal financial minister's meeting of the European Union (EU) in Newport, Wales, Straw said that a security assessment of the tape was underway, according to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

"And it happens those who entirely wrongly claim to speak in the name of Islam are mainly killing their fellow Muslims," Straw added.

On Thursday, a man claiming to be one of the four bombers behind the London July 7 attacks made an appearance on an Arab TV and threatened to strike again. The man, identified as Mohammad Sidique Khan, 30, talked about his motives in a tape-recorded footage aired by Al-Jazeera.

Khan said the UK government had committed atrocities against Muslims and he was inspired by Osama Bin Laden.

It is not clear when or where the tape was filmed, BBC said in a news released Thursday night.

As the eldest of the four bombers, Khan was responsible for the Edgware Road Circle Line explosion which killed six people and injured 120.

On the tape, the man said bombings in London and in Madrid were the fault of "Western citizens" and the public should no longer feel safe as they will be targeted again.

The EU foreign ministers are gathering for a two-day informal meeting on Thursday and Friday.
