Safety of home-made HIV vaccine initially testified
font size

On the morning of September 9, eight volunteers who received China-made HIV vaccine had their last blood collection and physical examination at the Disease Prevention and Control Center of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, marking a successful end of the first-stage clinical observation of the vaccine.

Regular visits and checks had been conducted since the eight volunteers received the vaccine on March 12 this year, said Chen Jie, vice director of the Center. By now no serious reactions have been found among them and their physiological indexes are all kept normal. The vaccination has reportedly produced no negative effect on their body or life. After a 180-day observation period, safety of this home-made HIV vaccine has been initially proved.
