China's poverty-relief experience worth popularizing, FAO official

An Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) assistant director-general told reporters at an international seminar on "Agriculture and Rural Development in the 21st Century'' held recently that China supports more population with less land, and has made tremendous achievements in poverty-relief field. The experience is worth popularizing in other parts of the world.

The official said on one hand, China improves its agricultural growth in a vigorous way and on the other hand, it has set up a sound social security network, which is worthy of learning by other countries.
