Islamic Jihad vows to fight on despite of Gaza pullout

A leader of the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad (holy war) vowed Monday to continue armed resistance as long as the West Bank and Jerusalem remain occupied, despite Israeli pullout from the Gaza Strip after 38 years of occupation.

Mohammed Hindi told reporters during a visit to the former Gaza settlements taken over by the Palestinian security forces that the victory of forcing Israelis out of Gaza would not rid his group of its responsibilities to liberate the West Bank and Jerusalem in addition to freeing the Palestinian prisoners from the Israeli jails.

"The path to liberation starts in the Gaza Strip and ends in Jerusalem and whole Palestine," he highlighted.

Hindi said that the West Bank will be the next stage for battling and forcing the enemy out.
