Palestinian Minister of Communications Sabri Saidam said on Tuesday that his ministry is contacting the Egyptians to reopen Rafah crossing on southern Gaza Strip.
Saidam told reporters that an Israeli closure of Rafah crossing on the eve of its withdrawal from the Gaza Strip was " unreasonable."
Palestinian Planning Minister Ghassan Al-Khatib said that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) seeks to control the crossing in cooperation with Egypt to ensure a smooth flow of goods and passengers between the two sides.
Al-Khatib told the Voice of Palestine that the PNA needs to study the issue of Rafah crossing with Egypt to serve Egyptian- Palestinian joint interests.
The Israeli army withdrew from the entire Gaza Strip on Monday.
