font size

Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has said that the end of human rights violations in the India- held Kashmir is imperative to create conducive environment for the solution of the longstanding dispute.

The human rights violations are affecting the whole situation, Kasuri told the state-run PTV in an interview telecast Wednesday.

"If we want to make the dialogue process result-oriented, the issue of human rights violations should be addressed," he said.

Kasuri stressed not only Pakistan but also the entire world community feel that solution of the Kashmir dispute is a must to have durable peace in the region.

"And a solution of this dispute is possible only when the main party to this issue, the Kashmiris, is taken in confidence," he added.

He said Pakistan and India have fought six small and big wars over Kashmir and that in the recent past, India has deployed around one million of their troops on its border adjacent to Pakistan.
