Advani to quit Indian opposition leadership
font size

The Indian opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President L.K. Advani Sunday said that he will quit his presidency in December this year, according to Indo-Asian News Service.

Advani made the remark in his address at the conclusion of a three-day national executive meeting of the party in Chinnai, India.

The opposition leader's move came after months of strained relations between Advani and other BJP leaders as well as Hindu groups aligned to the BJP over his remarks praising Pakistan's founding father Mohammed Ali Jinnah.
